Eligibility and identity
Who can join Dil Punjab?
Adults 18 and over who identify with Punjabi heritage or culture, wherever they live.
Why is it for adults only?
Dil Punjab is for dating and marriage, so every member must be 18 or older. We check date of birth at sign-up, and you can report anyone you believe is underage.
Do I need to be Sikh or follow a particular religion?
No. Punjabi people follow many faiths, or none. Religion is optional on your profile, and you decide whether it is shown.
Can I join if I live outside India?
Yes. Dil Punjab is open in every country, and you can say whether you are open to long distance or relocating.
Dating and marriage
Is it for dating, marriage or both?
Both. You choose dating, a committed relationship, marriage, open to either, or just exploring, and you can change it whenever you like.
Can I choose whether family gets involved?
Yes. Family involvement is your choice and is never assumed.
Can I meet people in another country?
Yes. Set the countries you want to see, or choose anywhere. Profiles show city and country, never an exact location.
Profiles and discovery
How do likes and matches work?
A like sends a connection request. When the other person makes a connection, it becomes a match and your chat opens.
Why am I seeing few profiles?
Your filters may be narrow for your area. Try widening your age range or adding countries. We never fill the feed with fake profiles.
What does a verification badge mean?
Each badge names exactly what was checked, such as "Phone verified". A badge does not guarantee someone's intentions, so always use our safety tips.
Vibes, gestures and chat
When can I message someone?
Once you are connected. Send a like, Teddy or Heartbeat; when the other person makes a connection, your chat opens.
What are Teddy and Heartbeat?
Ways to show how you feel. A Teddy is a playful nudge and a Heartbeat says someone really caught your attention. The other person can make a connection with you directly.
Who can see my Vibes?
Only the matches you choose. Vibes disappear after 24 hours, and you can delete one sooner.
Safety and privacy
Can other members see my phone number?
No. Your number is only used to sign in and keep your account secure. Members see your display name, age, city and country.
How do I report or block someone?
Use Report or Block on any profile, chat or Vibe. Blocked members cannot find or contact you, and they are not told.
How do I delete my account?
In the app go to Menu, then Settings, then Delete account. You can also read our account deletion page for other options.
Cost
Is Dil Punjab free?
Yes, at launch. If we ever add paid features, we will show the price clearly before you pay, and safety tools will always stay free.
